Well in that case, come here. See, parts of the plant that are already dying use up nutrients that could be better used in other parts of the plant. So we prune the dead parts so the remaining areas can flourish. Like see this stem here has already wilted completely, so we'll remove it so the rest of the plant can grow stronger. Make sense? ... I guess? Plants can't think and prioritize the way people and animals can. A fox caught in a trap will gnaw off its foot so the rest can survive. Plants can't think that way.
